For JonBandit:
Sprouts from potatoes are poisonous even tho potatoes aren't. I wondered if the same applied to garlic. But then, I have an enquiring mind and use it for more than thinking up sarcastic answers to questions from the people on 'Answers'.

I eat it all the time. What would be wrong with it, or to eat onion with it's sprouts or beans with it's sprouts. But I don't eat the sprouted eyes of a potatoe.

It;s safe, but not as good as you'd think they'd be. The garlic itself has gone down hill too when it sprouts.
