There is this guy at my job that I have been interested in for the past six months. Problem is we have never spoken, even though we have passed glances here and there. He is leaving the job, next friday is his last day, I was wondering if I should make a move? Try and talk to him or let him know that I'm interested? I figure the worst that could happen is that he says "no thanks" but then I don't have to see him anymore, being that we won't work together after next friday. If I do approach him, how should I do it, as to not make it feel weird or look like a complete idiot? Also, people from work are going out for some drinks next thursday for him, and one of my firends was invited. Would it be weird if I tagged along with her, even though I wasn't invited? I figured it might be a good way to break the ice, being that alcohol will be involved and that always makes a person bolder, lol. Thanks!

I think you should definately tell him how you feel. You are right. The worst he can say is "No." If you never tell him, you will never know what could have been. When you approach him act casual and confident- even if you are a little nervous. If you really like this guy, then you should go with your friend on Thursday.

Do you know why he's leaving his job? Where is he going next? Perhaps you could break the ice by asking some of those questions. What do you genuinely want to know?

I don't think it'd be strange for you to tag along with your friend. You're all coworkers, right? Maybe if ya talk to him, he'll even ask you to come along himself! =) Good luck.

I'd go to his going away shindig and strike up a convo. You can always introduce yourself by saying, "Hi! I'm so-an-so and I know we never got a chance to know each other while we were co-workers, I've heard good things about you and wondered if you'd like to get together over lunch or coffee sometime." If he declines, then no hard feelings and you can still have a good time w/ your other friends. Who knows? Maybe he'll bring his significant other to the gathering, that would settle things for you in a hurry!

yeah i would go for it, go with your friend and once you get comfortable then go up to him and just start talking about things and work up to how you would like to see him. and if he says no then you can leave and never have to talk to him ever again. which means he wasn't for you anyway.

go up to him, and casually ask where is he going to work next.. or how come he's leaving.. that'll get him started.. and then try to work up a conversation..

if he invites you great... if he doesnt .. say "ill see ya around"..

if its meant to be.. it'll happen..
