I have had acne since i was 15, now i am 22. it is much less severe, but it is still a problem. It also seems that I get acne more in the spring and winter than in the fall and summer. I wash my face twice daily with cetaphil soap, use a neutrogenia non-pore clogging face lotion, and apply topical sulfur and clindamycin. Sometimes I also wash with a beaded exfoliator. I am wondering at what age should I stop having this problem?

I am turning 25 and I still am having skin problems. I do not have severe acne but I do get those pesky pimples on quite a regular basis. I personally find that in the winter it is usually worse because of the dry air inside. It usually tends for your skin to become more dry and irritated. Also sometimes less is more in regards to acne medicine. I found when I was using a lot of stuff on my skin that sometimes is broke out worse because of irritation. I myself have currently started using the ProActiv brand on my face and it has seriously worked miracles. It might be expensive but if acne is a major issue, then it is worth it.

I struggled with acne for years and I finally found the solution that works for me. We have been fooled, tricked, deceived, and just plain lied to. It's time that someone put a stop to it, and everyone learn the truth!

Those of us who suffer from acne have usually been given 2 choices and neither of them work:

1. Over the counter remedies such as cleansers, creams, ointments, etc. These things have been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.

2. Go see a doctor and or dermatologist. They will generally prescribe prescription drugs which include topicals and or antibiotics. This, too, has been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.

I found a step-by-step program that cured my acne and it has never come back. It is amazing and doesn’t use any drugs or doctors. The truth is that acne can be cured…if we know the secret the doctors and drug companies don’t want us to know.

There is a great website: http://acnehomesolution.com that has all the details. I really suggest you check it out and see if it works as well for you as it did for me.

You know, I had acne like you're describing and it FINALLY went away when I was about 33. Sorry - but perhaps there is light at the end of the tunnel for you. If I could go back in time, I'd have spent the money on Proactive (it didn't exist back then, darnit).

i first got acne when i was about 12 years old. within a year or so, it cleared up pretty much on its own.

then, when i was 17, i broke out badly again.
I use proactive. it helps a lot.
you'll never be too old for acne. you just have to learn to take care of your skin.

i use proactive as my skin care regimine. I use Bare Minerals for my make up. It's very gentle on the skin and won't clog pores. You can even sleep in it. (it's what they claim)

good luck.

i've always wondered if acne is a reaction to poor diet, or to something in a diet. (not saying that age isn't a major factor, though) posture might matter, also. a knot in your neck can screw with glands or lymphatic system, i think. try to reduce your stress level. you might experiment with short cold-water showers (10-20 seconds) at the end of your showers. no junk food for you. try taking flax oil. consider your nutrient intake. calcium affects skin, for example. try to avoid allergens, in your food and your environment.

i don't use soap on my face at all; rather i wash my hands with soap, rinse them well while rubbing them together hard, then i lightly smear the oil/dirt off my face with them and repeat if my face still feels oily. this way you don't strip your face of oil and open it up to bacteria. if you do strip the oil off with something, i think replenishing the oil with a little olive oil can help. i don't know; my acne wasn't the worst in the world. it got better steadily in my 20's.

btw, if any of this happens to help anyone significantly, i would like to know

Well, you can have acne all your life if you are unlucky enough. I had it for years and the thing that sorted it out for me was retin A cream every night. It took a few months though. You can get it from a dermatologist. Good luck.

in case your epidermis is comfortable better no longer keep on with lemon juice immediately on your epidermis because lemon juice contains citric acid that could worsen the exterior..i'd advise you to blend equivalent volume of rose water contained in the lemon juice earlier utilizing it..rose water has astringent houses too so so that you may use it to reduce oil and zits too
