tell them you'd like to talk private sometime at a certain place. they'll give you the date and time and you can meet them there. then just ask them. but be sure to say its okay if they say no.

say hello first. ask what they like to do, then say that you like that too, and that maybe the two of you could do it together sometime. If that goes well, then call later and do the asking.
