Age gap?........................?

Question

Do you think a 5 year age gap between a 14 yr old and a 19 yr old is too big?

Its a debate i've been having, but Im not really sure. Be really helpful if someone could give there reasons for why they think either way =]

as you get older age gaps arent as big of a deal, but in your teen years a lot of pressure is on age. It is a law and the 19 yr old could get in a lot of trouble. So it is not a good idea, but if it is someone that you have known for years and you disscuss it with your parents and they say it is okay, then it should be fine, but remember that if they decide to they can press charges, and hey why not date someone who is going thryu high school with you, someone who knows what you go thru on a daily basis.

hmmmm.....I think it depends. My boyfriend is 4 years apart from me {I am 16, he's 20} and alot of people think it's messed up, I think alot people think I go for old guys or something because my last bf is the same age, but it's only because they were so much more mature than the young punks lol. It really doesn't seem that far....I think it depends on the person.

I think that the age gap becomes less important the older you get, but when you are so young I can see why it would be bad. You have to be careful.....you might want to wait until you get a little older than 14 to date a 19 year old though, because as a 14 year old you aren't even half through your teenage years, and a 19 year old is leaving his teenage years and is pretty close to being an adult....I don't think I would advise it, esp. since the guy is probably thinking about more serious relationships because of his age, and when you're 14 you aren't thinking so serious.

i find it very weird that a 19 year old would be interested in a 14 year old. i feel like 14 is still a very young age and i doubt a 14 year old knows what real "love" is.

i don't think a 5 year gap is weird as long as no one is a minor. so like a 20 year old with a 15 year old, idk, it's just strange. 14-15 year olds i still consider babies. not like they act like babies, but they're still so young and unexperienced in the boy department, i would hope.

now a 20 year old with a 25 year old, that's ok for me.

i'm just sayin. my 2 cents. if you are 14 and a 19 year old likes you then you should probably reconsider the situation because he should know you're um, really young for him. if you like a 19 year old and you're 14 then in my honest opinion you should let it go cause you shouldn't have to handle something like that right now.

Yes most definately! I was four years older than my girlfriend and trust me it was...How should I put it... Difficult. The younger they are the harder it is on the older person, when your dealing with teens. I will never date a teenager younger than 19 again. They just don't know what there doing or what they want when there under 18. Doesn't matter who it is!

Not the age gap, He is an adult and your not. If for some reason your parents get mad they could call the law. He is an adult and your a minor!

Its a big gap but if u know that person really do care for u and and ur paarents is okay with it then its straight to me but that is jsut me

I hate to say it, but yes. You should wait until it's a lot closer to 18 and 23, so as not to get in problems with the law.

well its illegal and some people think of it as, he must be desperate if he can`t go with anyone his own age but if you are a mature teen then its o.k. as long as he isn't with you for the wrong reasons. other than that your good

He's an adult and your on your second year of being a teenager! Just get people you like in your grade or a grade higher!
