There is a picture attached here in which Jessica Simpson has her hair short like mine and is very straight. I do not like to use a flat iron because it damages hair and I am already losing hair a lot. How can achieve that style??? I have tried using hairpray but it looks very sticky, very greasy. I have heard about applying hair serum, what is that???

My main question is, how can I achieve that look (I have her same haircut) but for some reason I cannot achieve a straight look, it becomes wavy in a few hours.
Thank you!!!

Try a straighten serum through out your hair, and use a vented brush or a large round brush and blow dry straight in sections. Afterward apply a separate frizz serum.

Get a ceramic flat iron, it will cost you a little more but it is less damaging to the hair. Alternatively, you can use a straightening cream and a large paddle brush to blow-dry your hair straight, but this is probably going to be even more damaging. To get super-straight hair, the flat iron is the way to go. Stay away from hairspray, that's not going to do anything to make your hair straight, just make it sticky and frizzy. A hair serum is just a type of hair product, there are many different types-shine serum, frizz-fighting serum, etc, overuse of any of these can also make your hair greasy if you have fine hair which it seems you may have.

Youre supposed to put a hair serum in your hair while it is wet and either air-dry it or blow dry it...i air dry. Then straighten your hair (invest in a good straightener like a Chi) and if steam comes off your hair, then your hair is being protected. Dont use too much serum or your hair will look greasy...

if you absolutly dont wanna use a flat iron,
you could buy heat activated straightening cream.
just put it on wet hair and then blow dry your hair straight.

herbal essences dangerously straight IS a good hairspray, but if you dont like hairsprays i dont think its a good idea.

you could use a pretecting gel or cream in your hair before you flat iron, because it will protect against damage. also, get a ceramic flat iron, they also cause less damage to the hair and make it less dry and frizzy.

good luck!

I know oyu can you can use an irpon but you dont want to. My hair is extremely striaght like all the time and i think this might help i dont know. When you take a shower comb your hair stright while in the shower with conditioner in it. then when you get out of the shower comb it again and wrap it in a tower. wait about five minutes then take your hair out of the tower and comb it again. then blow dry your hair but while you blow dry your hair constantly comb your hair striaght down to make it go striaght i know that keeps my hair straighter than usual i hope it helps you.

P.S.if you switch to a straighting conditioner and shampoo for your hair and continue with the above techinque, over time it will also help to keeo your hair striaght and make it straighter but it will take more than one use of the shampoo and conditioner to make it straighter. The blowerdrying thing should only take once or twice. I hope this helps.

I buy this product called Alterna straightening hemp. You put it in your wet hair and blow dry it with a brush. It gets rid of the friz and my natural waves. I love the product but it can be very expensive. Here's the sight. Hope that helped!!!!!!

you may desire to attempt scrunching your hair with mousse or a curl improving spray, and then blow drying it with a defuser. i think of mattress head has a product called curls rock, that makes rather marvelous waves that are no longer crunchy or stressful.

Try the big velcro rollers. You can let it airdry or blowdry it but either way your hair will come out staright and with alot of volume.
