WTF do I have to wait 4 hours to select the best answer if I already know it.?

I guess it's kind of like the waiting period , like how I can't buy a handgun until after a week after I have a fight with my neighbor.

To give people ample time to answer your question. Who knows if although you think you have a best answer in mind to choose, another person within that 4 hours provides an even better answer that blows your mind. I guess it's to give time to everyone so that you have a multitude of answers to choose from instead of just a few somewhat good answers.
