I was driving. It was raining. I approached a police officer taking up shoulder lane and the first passenger lane with blue lights on. He was protecting guy putting gas in his car. As I approached closer, the officer turned off lights and I saw that his wheels were making a 360. I honked at him, because if not he would have hit me. He immediantly got behind me, followed me for some seconds and turned on his lights. He pulled me over. I asked him why he pulled me over. He told me to get out my license. I gave him license and asked him again why he pulled me over. He would not answer. Finally he said, "I pulled you over because you almost hit pedestrian that was putting gas in their car." I argued with him back and forth that this was not true because of the fact that officer already had 2 areas blocked for pediastrian. He told me that he was going to write me a $500 ticket. he says he has me on tape. How from behind? Can I get this tape? He told me i cant look at tape.

Sometimes you can contact the officer's supervisor and ask to see the tape.

Several years ago, I got cought doing a rolling stop while making a right on red. My hubby asked to see the tape, and the supervisor let us. YEP, I paid the fine.

BUT by all means if you disagree, then go to court. The officer may not even show up. By the freedom of information act, you can request to see the tape.

If you plead not guilty to the ticket, you can request a trial date. Check the court clerk on local procedures to obtain subpoena for the video tape and the officer will have to bring the tape to the trial. Make sure you also arrange for an appropriate playback device so that the judge can review the tape if it really exists.

Definitely take it to court. You can represent yourself and 9 times out of 10 they'll just drop the case.

I believe this guy is yanking your chain and you could contest the ticket. Did he actually give you a ticket? If he did, it should tell you where to call and tell you what steps to take if you want to plead "not-guilty"

Good luck!

If he writes you a ticket, dispute it. It sounds like the guy was just being a prick.
