Turning left on red with one way streets is usually legal as long as both streets are one-way. Otherwise you are crossing the path of oncoming or intersecting traffic.
For example, if you were on a one way street and turning left onto a two-way street at a red light, this is not acceptable, because you are crossing the path of traffic coming from the other way.
As long as both streets are one-way, and there isn't a sign prohibiting turning on a red signal, then you should be okay.
You can always check with law enforcement for your area.

Can't speak for the laws of any other state, but here in Michigan it's 100% legal to turn left on a one-way street when there's a red light as long as you have verified you can make the turn safely.

Turning Right on red after a complete stop was made legal in all states, unless outwise posted, to try to make all states uniform.
The same rule may apply in your state. In Florida, you may turn Left on red from a one way street to a one way street. No other Left turns on red permitted.Again, remember you must be in the extreme Left lane turning into the left lane.
You must always yield to on coming traffic.

You never turn left on a red light unless it is a flashing red light. My cousin was killed by someone making an illegal left turn like this. Follow the rules of the road, you may save a life.
