Cause science threatens their religious beliefs.
Intelligent design will obfuscate the issue enough that they can more easily rationalize away the things they dislike or feel threatened by in science.

Because evolution coincides perfectly with the bible. Someone had to have designed us. Look at the human body especially childbirth and how the placenta feeds the baby in the womb and the breasts outside the womb, how the nursing baby causes a natural (but not always fool proof) birth control. It's like God knew the mother would need a break from getting pregnant again so while she nurses it is harder for her to get pregant. There are so many reasons I see a master creator having designed everything so uniquely different yet fitting together into one grand ecosystem. I know God is real and I also believe the fossil evidence. I'm telling you, God designed the evolutionary systems by which things evolved from other things.

Because they can't explain the dinosaurs any other way. There is too much PROOF that they existed, and the very existence proves that the Bible is nothing more than stories that MAN created to explain things, including the start of the world and man. The proof of the dinosaurs came AFTER the Bible had been written so they needed a way after the fact to explain how these large dinosaurs came to be and what happened to them!
Hypocrisy at it's best!

Obviously because they believe the universe looks designed. Intelligently. I think it's a load of rubbish myself. But hey, anything's possible, yes?

If you believe in God, intelligent design makes sense.
Is it science? Absolutely not. It is faith based and as such should not be taught as anything else.

Even the scientist have concurred that we use only 10% of our brain and that even from the most intelligent of us. Is it so farfetched to believe that their is an intity that actually is capable of using the full scope of intelligence.
