sense to allow the woman to marry many as opposed to just the man marrying multiple wives? This way the woman has multiple incomes. Cuz if u think about it, if a man has many wives then that is more money spent on many so there is less for each wife. I already know that the man only can have another wife if his first allows him to and that they are all treated equally so please explain why the woman is only allowed one husband?

Because the point is that she doesn't starve, not that she has a hot-tub and a mercedes. Also, Middle Eastern households usually have the families living with the patriarch, so the household would have the income of the men coming into it already.

Because the number of women born versus men is not determined by how many wives a man has. Remember that the population is so out of whack because of the daily dangers men face (militarily as well as in their regular jobs). Bigamy is not practiced in some other parts of the world because it is not economically or socially necessary.
There is a form of polyandry (in which a woman has multiple husbands) in China. There, a woman will usually marry some men who are brothers (of each other, not her). This is because there is very little land available, and the men can all inherit the land and raise a family without fighting over it. The problem with this is that there are now very few men available for unmarried women.

No, because Islam greatly reduces the possibility that there will even be more than one wife. First of all, to have another wife, she will already be in a situation in which she has no men to take care of her (so she was already "off the market" for bachelors anyway). Secondly, the financial costs of keeping all the wives equally will prevent men from marrying more than 2 women at the most. A man is only allowed 4 wives, but most cannot afford it. These circumstances prevent a shortage of women.

The people in China are farmers, so they don't face the same dangers and the men do not die as often. The women do not marry multiple men because of an overpopulation of men, but because of inheritance issues. The problem in the system they're using is coming out in the shortage of bachelors.

Man by nature is the stronger more aggressive sex. For a woman to marry more than once at the same time would mean her responsibilities to more than one man are divided. Women are the weaker more sensitive sex and she doesn't need the aggressiveness of more than one man. This law is for her protection. To safeguard her well being, her future her children and to respect her and elevate her status.

no i am not claiming that men are more superior it's not a matter of who's better than the other. i was just stating that men and women are physically different, their roles in life are different, i didn't imply that that men and women are not equal, just opposite that's all.

Before Islam, Arabic women were always in control of their love life; they chose their own mates and married who they felt like; it wasn't uncommon for pre-Islamic women to have four or more husbands.
With the introduction of Islam, things changed.
