Bullet speed can range between 750 fps up to over 4000 fps (feet per second). Range can be from 50 yards more or less to 1 mile+ for the big .50 Browning Machine Gun (BMG) bullet. High powered rifle bullets run from 2500 fps (.30'06) to over 4000 fps (Ruger .204). Pistol & revolver bullet run from 750 fps (low end .45acp) to around 1500--2000 fps and have shorter ranges than rifle cartridges. These are just a rough idea of what is out there.

That is like asking how fast does a car travel and what is its gas mileage. Bullets travel at different speeds depending on the caliber, powder load, and length of the barrel of the weapon firing the bullet. The range depends on the bullet and type of weapon. Do you mean accurate range or just how far will the bullet travel before gravity causes it to strike the ground?

How long is a pice of string, there's your answer.
The main facters to concider are the calliber of rifle, the grain of bullet, the charge (powder) within the shell, the wind direction and so on.
For example my cz 223 with a balistic tip will travel at about 3000ft per and will acuratley hit a target at 400 to 500 meters,, that bit depends on how good your sights are though. There are many callibers of rifle which will beat that with a volocity of up to 4000ft per sec and bullets traviling well over a mile
Not this was just a quick explanation, its time to go shooting

Depends on a) the gun b) the type of bullet c) the atmosphere it is to travel through. But if someone's got a gun aimed at you now, can I suggest that if he pulls the trigger you may not get out of the way in time...............

It depends on the charge of powder and calibre/weight of the bullet. Also wind speed and direction.

Too wide a question. Depends on an awful lot of factors. Take for instance the 9mm -v- 7.62mm. The 9mm travelled at half the feet per second of the 7.62 and for a lot less distance. You need to be more specific.

I deliver bullets to the army and in my van they travel at an average of 43 m.p.h with a range of 359 miles(on a full tank of diesel). Hope this helps!

Lots of variables -- caliber of the weapon, amount of gunpowder used, type of bullet or slug, etc. At the low end, a shotgun slug leaves the barrel of the gun at about 800 feet per second and can travel maybe 500 yards, and on the high end a 210 grain round fired out of a 30.06 leaves the barrel of the gun at about 2,200 feet per second and can travel about four miles.

It all depends on what gun caliber and what bullet it's using.
Eg. : The old western Deringers fired small round musket balls that were only good at close range and even then you were lucky if you penetrated thick clothing, were as a 30.30 shotgun can penetrate solid brick and kill the person on the other side.
