You can't prove what you believe, and shouldn't feel you have to. that is the point of faith, it's a personal set of beliefs that make you feel better about yourself, the world around you, and ultimently, what happens when you die. You either believe in something, or don't and it's no ones business what you believe or why.

I think that what you are asking is: At what point did you actually become a Christian?

It happened when you turned from yourself and made the heartfelt decision to give your will and ways to God. That is pretty much the Greek literal use of the word where we get the word 'repentance' from. It's turning away from something, to something else. The Latin, as I understand it, implies emotion attached. But the Greek does not. The Greek may allow emotion, but does not implicitly state it.

So that's what you did when you became saved. You turned from your own ways, and embraced his ways.

Does that answer your question?

EDIT: Christian.

ANOTHER EDIT: Prove that I am a Christian? I just did. The word is nigh ( at my fingertips), through the heart the man believeth, with the proclaimation, confession is made.

Only you can know so you must be your one and only star witness. Simply put did you do the ABC's of Christianity Admit-believe-confess?

I became a Christian because at the age of 8
I Accepted the fact that I was subject to sin (do wrong)
I truly Believed that if I put my trust in the risen Jesus and God they would save and guide me
I Confessed or stated those facts that in front of people (our church)

I have had many doubts and wanderings since that time. Questioning and becoming unsure that I could know anything of God. But if God is real and you have put your trust in him, He as the creator will protect your soul for none is strong enough to take a child of his from him.

I'm studying and finding my way to a mature faith with a much wider view of my creator now, and thus a smaller view of my place.

First off, I don't think I need to "prove" to anyone that I am a believer. I know I am saved, and on my way to Heaven. I think the marks of a believer are that they have an interest in the things of God and want to know what His will is, they will be able to read the Scriptures and have an understanding, through the Holy Spirit, of its contents and message, they will enjoy listening to someone expound on the Scriptures, they will seek to do good, not to impress God or gain some favor with Him, but simply because of who you are and who you belong to.
But when you get right down to it, this verse says it well:

Rom 10:9 Because if you confess the Lord Jesus with your mouth, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

An unbeliever cannot confess that Jesus is Lord and does not believe He rose from the dead.

I have a certificate of baptism to prove I was a Christian. That's the best I can generate.

Why would you care to do so, chippy? But, usually christians want you to declare the truth of jesus to prove you are christian, maybe show a little "spirit" (that tongues blather).

I answered something similar earlier.

I was born with "atheist" tattooed on my rear end. I've always believed it. Now I'm beginning to wonder if it's really the mark of the beast. Would a big tattoo on your butt lie?

I'm so confused.
