Fruits and vegetables are actually very good for dogs. There is nothing wrong with a nice apple treat.

The fruit from apples is generally ok for dogs ... but next time take the seeds out. Apple seeds actually contain arsenic. You have an Akita so I don't think they'll hurt a dog of his size, but just a heads-up.
And to respond to a previous post, also ... tomatoes are not always safe for a dog to eat. Ripe tomatoes are the least dangerous, but unripened tomatoes, tomato leaves and stems contain atropine, which can have some very negative effects on your dog. Be careful!

I have 2 boxers that have been eating apples all the time straight from our tree for the past 3 years. They love it when I throw them a few times, then they settle down to eat the apple. My dogs haven't ever had a problem witht he seeds, but then they are big dogs too.

Not to much.Take out the seeds. Love her dearly. I had a dog who I'd loved very much. And when she past on I cried like a baby day after day. I still Think of her. Now I'am getting a cat. I also mean that dogs eat anything you give them. Ask her doctor. cause even tho; I gave my dog anything I eat it.

Your dog should be fine. I know how it is with a dog that likes to eat weird things. My dog would eat any kind of food in front of it. But if you want to be on the safe side call a local vetrinarian and ask them over the phone.

as everyone says, the apples are OK for dogs, but too much can upset your dogs tummy. In moderation veggies and fruits are OK and a wonderful addition to his\her diet.

Apples are fine for dogs. Mine love apples and when we had an apple tree they would stand on their hind legs and pick apples to eat.

Apples make wonderful, healthy treats for any dog. They are great to use during training, since they are better than bicuits. Try not to give the seeds to her because they contain arsenic (usually toxic for smaller animals, but don't bother risking it.)
