He needs to be neutered...if he already is...then obedience class would be worth the time and financial investment. Instead of smacking him...step towards him and grab his "scruff" - this is to get his attention...not to punish or hurt him. Don't allow him to mount you. He is trying to be dominant over you. Good luck.

He is still young, so don't give up on him too soon.
He may think your light smacks are just play.
You could put a few pebbles in an aluminum can, hide it in your pocket, and shake it at him, hard and sudden, when he tries to bite or "hump" you. This works on some sensitive dogs. But don't over do it. He will only get desensitized to it.
If the scary can isn't enough to stop the bad behavior, try suddenly rolling him over, holding him down, and really "growl" at him in a LOUD, low-pitch, angry, animal-mama voice. Let him know exactly how unhappy he has made you! Hold him down till he whimpers or looks away - or pees himself. If he stays there on his back, after you let go, you have made your point. That's what a mother wolf would do to a rude cub.

ok, fist of all, get him neutered. he should have been when he was 4 months old.
secondly, do not punnish for bad behavior, reward for good behavior. if the dog is biting, then say no loudly and sharply, stand up and walk away. if he doesnt bite, give him a treat. after a while he should catch on.

#1, get him neutered. Then enroll him in some obedience training.
When you play with him, if he gets mouthy, say a sharp "NO" and immediately stop playing and ignore him. When he comes to you NOT biting, have a treat ready to give and give it to him when he plays nicely. Repeat over and over and over til he gets it. He's just a baby..he'll learn..as long as you never let him do it. If you let him bite at you sometimes in play, he'll never know to stop.

Smacking a dog doesnt work. You need to reward good behavior. If you can get him to stop biting, then reward him for being good.

pull the dogs flews (Lips) under your dog's teeth so it can feel what the biting feels like. All the kids in my 4-h class did this and their dogs don't bite anymore.

OMG....if you are girl, you cannot smack him too hard! That is probably the problem....you hit him, and he thinks that you are just playing with him.....level him one good time, and I gurantee that he will not do it again.
I know that this might seem unpleasant to do (no one like to hit their dog), but unless you get tough with him, you need to prepare yourself for the possibility of getting sued if he bites someone else.
