Has the doctor even suggested what it could be...
You may have no more than pinched nerve in your neck, or even TMJ... You need a definitive diagnosis .... I would suggest seeing a Neurologist first and then a Dentist who specializes in TMJ.....
TMJ symptoms : Anyone of these could signal TMJ
Clicking upon opening mouth
Sore Jaw
Headaches
Neck aches
Ringing in the ears
Stuffiness in the ears
Pain behind the eyes
Ear pain
Shoulder and lower back pain
Dizziness and fainting
Difficulty swallowing
Tingling of the fingers and hands
Here's a couple of links that might help:

Have you tried neck exercises? If the doctors have not been able to diagnose any def problem then it could be due to worry or tension ,sometimes nerves also can cause all these problems.Consult a neurologist and still if no problem is there then go in for Yoga and simple neck exercises.Dont forget to consult an eye specialist also.

At first I thought you knew my x-husband.Then I read farther.
Try a warm compress to help ease the pain. Try it 15 min. on then 15 off. Keep this up for an hour or so. Aleeve and advil sinus may help too!

I suggest going to a chiropractor who practices kinesiology. The chiropractor I go to practices that and nutrition, so he treats the whole body. He even advises me what to take that is natural and/or homeopathic. He has helped me so much with different pains; I truly don't know what I would do without him.
