Organized religion is not really important as far as my relationship with God is concerned. However, going to church every Sunday or speaking with the pastor may give me better insight to what I don’t understand. So overall, it is very important.

Your statement "comforting me in the realization that I don't have to understand it all to trust in it.." concerns me. If you don't understand Christ and Christianity, then you might not be saved. It's not just about organized religion and going to church. It's about God Himself dying on a cross for your sins. It's about God Himself taking your punishment so you don't have to. Read Matthew 13 about the explanation of the parable of the seeds on the different paths. The explanation states that one must understand the gospel, the understanding is what saves the person. If you go based purely on experience, it says that you are not saved.
Please please seek to understand the truth. It's important. Organized religion is secondary to your eternal salvation. Google "the good person test" and take it, and use your mind to understand what the gospel/Christ/Christianity is about. You do have to understand it, then trust in it. I will pray for you.

The bible hepls us to appreciate that God is a God of order and peace.(1 Cor 14:33)
And looking at his stated purpose for the first two humans, Adam and Eve, giving them direction, indicates that he wanted his creation to live in harmony.(Gen 1:28;2:17)
Later he chose a people and directed them to show that by obeying him, unity is established and harmony exists. (Deu 7:6,13,14)
Later his Son came to earth to lay the foundation for Christianity.
The first Christians were organized for a purpose. An important work had to be done, which shows that organisation was necessary. (Matthew 28:19,20;24:14)
And they were also to be recognized as his true followers by the love and unity they had as a group or organization. (John 13:34,35)
So to me, organized religion is a truth. Not because I say or feel so, but because our Creator says it.
However. Not all organized religion is approved by God nor does all organized religion work. It has to be according to Gods requirements and direction in the scriptures.

I did for a long time, 13 years. Tried 3 different religions (Catholic, Baptist, Penetecostal) throughout my life so far. Don't attend a church now do to religious groups bastardizing faith into business. They've lost the "soul" purpose for services and the leaders have let me and my family down in a very huge way. ah well...life goes on.

Jesus was a Jew and practiced jewish traditions, even celebrating Passover dinner the week before he died. His death has freed people from the Moses Law.
You might not agree with your church because of your personal taste or it might not go with Bible teachings which it believes to preach. For example, Jesus commanded love your enemies while Christendom go to war and kill each other, spiritual brothers and sisters.

I beleive in God and Jesus, I've read Parts of the bible, and sometimes i watch Joel Olsteen preach on tv and love the message he sends.
But I do not go to church. I don't see why I need to. I prey, God loves me and he knows i love him, Why do I have to go to a church to hear a mortal human tell me how to worship god.
God is in your heart and soul, he is your guide in life, and you should prasie him everyday, i dont see a purpose to in going to a place where most of the people are narrow minded and beleive " THIS IS THE ONLY WAY" every religion says they are the only way, the others are sinful....who says they are right. Why do we have to put a name on our religion, can't you just beleive in GOD. i

I dont go to church because I cant stand subjecting myself to ignorance.. sorry no offence but thats what I hear the few times I have been. Ignorance, intolerance, egotism, holier than thou attitude and I cant stand it... to be honest religious people give me a disturbing feeling, like I feel they are sick and need to be cured. Staying away from there helps me leave them alone and prevents me arguing with various people who seem to be brick walls.. I can accept others different beliefs but I cant subject myself to it for too long it makes me feel sad, disturbed, hopeless, and discouraged about the future of humanity. I want to make them see but I cant so it gets me down.. like trying to explain to a blind person what the colour green looks like, its pointless and frustrating because of their affliction they will never truly see.

Well, I know that every Sunday morning, organized religions are summoning their lemmings to be told how to vote... These lemmings are often in my way as I drive to the store to get donuts. That's important to me so I can plan a different route...
