Hello, My friend has a daugther with autism tendencies
but she is finding it really hard to cope.
is there any help out the that could help my friend? or any website or books etc?

Yes plenty - there is an Autism Society I'm not sure of the correct name you could just try a web search.

Also the health depatment will be able to advise, there are schools specifically for Autistic people and children.

Plenty of reading in the library - books etc. and probably web sites too. Here is a general search link:

THe first thing your friend needs to do is to get her child evaluated for autism. THere are other disabilities that appear to be autism, but really aren't, and if she is just guessing it is autism, her child may be missing out on some very needed therapies.

After the child is evaluated and possibly diagnosed, the pediatrition or neurologist should be able to direct her to locval groups and therapies that will help her cope with rasing her child.

you should google autism i'm sure there's some sort of organization that has the different types of autism and places on where to get guidance and assistance with autistic children..you're a good friend helping out..

Read "Sun Rise" by Barry Kaufman.
His son was autistic & against all odds broke throught it.
The Kaufman's run a school in Sheffield Ma
