I have a sister in law that give free advise . Ok here's the problem. She contacted my wife about a family reunion in another part of the country in the summer. My wife has told her she doesn't want to go. Ok last week we got tickets booked for my wife from her sister. My wife can't get off work, the airport is 90 miles from where we live so we would have to drive her there and pick her up there. Is ther e a way of getting through to someone that won't talk no for an ansawer? My sisiter in law has run her life off into a ditch , as Dr Phil would say . But she's tooo stupid to see it.

1st -- why would her sister just purchase the ticket without talking to your wife? Sounds like she just threw away some money!
2nd -- talk to your brother (or your wife's brother-whichever) and have him address his wife! If not -- you are going to have to get very firm, to the point of rude, next time this starts to happen.

Have your wife send the tickets back to her with a note reminding her that she will not attend the reunion. She might also include in the note that she does not appreciate her purchasing the tickets for her after she already told her no.

What's the problem you have 2 choices send back the tickets with a note saying As per our prior conversation I can not attend.
Or toss them in the garbage and say nothing. You can not control your sister in law but, you can control your self by not giving in.
