have a sister in law that won't listen!?

I have a sister in law that give free advise . Ok here's the problem. She contacted my wife about a family reunion in another part of the country in the summer. My wife has told her she doesn't want to go. Ok last week we got tickets booked for my wife from her sister. My wife can't get off work, the airport is 90 miles from where we live so we would have to drive her there and pick her up there. Is ther e a way of getting through to someone that won't talk no for an ansawer? My sisiter in law has run her life off into a ditch , as Dr Phil would say . But she's tooo stupid to see it.

just send the tickets back to her and say thanks but i can't and don't wish to go. case closed. she may have thought your wife would feel guilty and decide to go if the tickets appeared or maybe she thought you guys couldn't afford it. if she still won't take no for an answer you may have to tell her off. sometimes it can't be avoided if someone won't listen.

Just don't go. That's your sister in law fault she brought tickets. And when she ask why tell her "I told you know, what you didn't listen to me" and that's the end of it. What are you and your wife afraid of. Is her sister some king Kong person and you two are ? What? She can't make you go. Stand up for goodness sake. The only way to get though a person like that is to show her though your actions.Then tell her not to come over but once a year.
