NYC. I hate driving and that's a requirement in LA. Plus NYC has better food.

There both good, depending the season you want to visit.....the weather may be a factor in NYC...
Fall and spring are the most beautiful seasons in New York, with mild temperatures and changing foliage.
Winters (November through March) can be cold and snowy, although they have been less severe in recent years.
Summers are hot and humid, and the subway stations can sometimes become unbearably so.
Both cities have endless activities and Must see's check http://www.tripadvisor.com , they have forums you can
join and chat with travelers who are going, or planning or just returning, they are full on info

nyc is better i think, more diverse population with people from many far away countries all living together. also far superior public transportation, everything close together instead of spread out, old city with a lot of history, great entertainment not just hollywood crap but real culture. but weather is much better in l.a with a more diverse terrain mtns beaches deserts. you will find good people on either coast just different attitudes is all.

Pls. NY by a long shot. I guess I am just an East Coast person. I like the crowd, the skyscrappers, subway, money business (you know, stock traders, corporate workers, wall street, etc)
These are things hardly in LA. It's different. But LA is nice also. It's just different.

NY is beautiful, LA is ugly.
NY is easy to get around, LA is a ***** to get around.
NY has great theater. LA has occasionally good theater.
NY Met Opera is the best in the US, LA Opera is so-so.
NY people are friendly, LA people are rude.
NY is just better, better culture, better energy, hotels, cabarets, you name it. I live in California, I go to NYC three times a year, I avoid LA like the plague.

NYC by a looooong shot the architecture ppl are cool...LA sucks...they have that corny gangsta look or the dumb blond type of chicks...I love Miami the best though....
