either you have a sinus infection OR a piece of cotton in your ear that needs to come out that can cause infection so go to the doctor tale care of it before it gets worse

I'm a nurse. It's the fluid build up not to worry. However use the ear drops you got from the doctor and if you don't feel better go back for another prescription. The infection will remain and get worse without the medication. Take care.

When you have an ear infection, it means that your eustation tubes are clogged and so your ear is not draining properly. The cracking you hear is the fluid moving around inside the ear/sinus cavity and trying to drain into your throat.

I believe it might be the fluid in your ear. See a doctor before it becomes really painful. If you have seen one try a hair dyer on low they say this works just be careful not to burn your ear.
