I am 29 year old guy and I recently met a very sweet 19 year old guy. We have great conversations and we make each other laugh. We have been talking for about 3 weeks and there has been no sexual activity other than a kiss here and there. I want to continue seeing him but not sure if its right and I worry a little about what his and my family & friends will say. What should I do?

It seems you are implying that you are gay and want to know if you should date a 19 year old male, let me ask you a question, have you given up on the idea that there is no woman out there that can give what the same sex can't?! it is your life however and you do what you want to but maybe you should think about it a little more and see if that is what you really want, there is no real relationship here because you and this guy have been dating for 3 weeks. If you are really that worried about what your family will think of you when they find out about the guy then why don't you try to date a woman you never know, something good might come out of it. Although whatever choice you make you have to be sure it is the choice that you are comfortable with, then when that is done you have to figure out how to face your family after all it will be your choice on what you do. But if they are your family they will accept you for who you are and what you have become.

I really don't think age should matter. If you both enjoy being with one another, you have a good time, you connect on a emotional/physical level, you communicate well, you respect each other, and maturity levels aren't an issue...go for it! Life is short. If you found someone that makes you really happy, you shouldn't let that go because of what other people might think of you. If your family and friends really love you, they will respect your choice and be happy if you are happy.
I'm on the flip side of this situation--my boyfriend is 12 years older than me and at first my family and friends did raise their eyebrows a bit. However, after a while they realized how happy I was with him and they quickly got over the age thing. Good luck to you!

I'm sure you have the best intentions, but the age difference will eventually become as issue, I believe. If he's an old soul, then that is different. But I just have to believe that nineteen year olds don't know where they are in life yet. What if you get wrapped up in the relationship? His friends will probably be patting him on the back. But I doubt his family will be very supportive.

Age is nothing but a number. There are 19year old kids that have WAY more expirence than I have had but it doesnt mean they would be a better partner than I would , I hope that makes sense. Your family and friends should see that your happy and look beyond the age difference. I have dated guys up to 13years older and 3 years younger and really it boils down to them not their age! Be happy go for it!

Some people say age is nothing but a number. If he's mature then maybe but it depends on you, and how comfortable you would be with dating someone 10 years younger. If that sort of thing doesn't bother you, then just do it, have fun and enjoy it!

Age isn't anything but a number but be prepared, he might be a little immature, and your family and friends might not be for it since the age difference is such a big difference, but you have to decide for yourself if dating this person is worth the hassle. You can't let everyone decide for you, everyone else isn't dating this guy, you are. If your happy then persue it. Otherwise leave it alone and move on. Good luck !!!

If you enjoy eachothers company, and are both mature adults, age is not an issue. He is over 18.
I am 29, my future husband is 39, same thing.
