I doubt the dog got sick from drinking toilet water unless there were some harsh chemicals you put in the bowl.
If there were cleaning agents, I'd say call a poison control center but I see you are on your way to a Vet. Your dog could also have parvo or pancreatitis. I have a dog that had two bouts of pancreatitis and it was grueling to get her through that.
I had to stick needles under her skin so she could get fluids with antibiotics, anti-nausea medication and saline solution.
She couldn't have anything to eat or drink by mouth for a few days. She bounced back quickly.
In her case, rawhides caused the illness so no more rawhides for any of my dogs. GL with your dog and I hope you update us on what happens and let us know what the Vet says was wrong.

You should always keep the toilet seat down. But I do beleive
that your dog has been poisoned by the chemicals in the toilet
cleaner.

I do have one thing to tell you which will help you out in the
future. Anytime your dog eats or drinks anything that you know
could harm them, there is two things you can give them to
make them throw it up right away before it gets into their
system. The first is salt. Just regular white salt. Put some on
a spoon and force them to swallow it and the dog will throw up
within minutes. Be sure not to give to much. A tea spoon is
good. Peroxide is also great, you would do the same thing
and it works.

My dog ate a ball of wool once and I called the vet and he told
me to use peroxide and it worked like a charm. However, you
only have a samll time frame before the dogs body obsorbes
what ever it is, usually about 45 mins. So at least you know
what to do the next time.

was there a particular cleaner in the toilet that he ingested or what... if its just plain toilet water with no cleaner then he ingested something else other than the toilet water! Let the vet know what was in the toilet... if nothing then the vet will do an exam and find out what he ate/drank!

I'm SORRY to say this and be so blunt about it...but that BLUE stuff may have been antifreeze!! put in many unused toilets for the winter to prevent the water from freezing up and cracking the toilet. It WILL kill him if not seen right away and even that might be too late! And even if, the dog survives, he will have irreversible kidney damage, incontinence, for the rest of his life! I sure hope I am WRONG!

If you had that blue stuff (toilet bowl cleaner) in the toilet, your dog may have been poisoned. Seek veterinary advice ASAP. If the toilet water was clear and clean, your dog is probably sick from something else.

He could die. Toilet bowl cleaners are CAUSTIC chemicals that can burn you inside. Take him to the vet, take the blue stuff with you see if you can figure out what it is. From now on SHUT THE LID.

he might have a bacterial infection or parasite from the toilet bowl. if this is something he has been doing for a long time it could just be something else he ate or caught. dont panic until you have a real solid reason.

He probably has poisoning. You are doing the best thing for your dog by bringing him to the vet. They might have to clean out his stomach with charcoal. He might also have kidney damage. Good luck!
