Benzoyl peroxide washes (Oxy 10) or bars (PanOxyl) are good ways to deal with oily skin.

Neutrogena has a clay mask w/ benzoyl peroxide that is good and Origin's has a good charcoal mask.

Some people recommend Queen Helene Mint Julep Mask.

Here are some homemade remedies:

You can put a thin layer of plain Milk of Magnesia on your face and let it dry for 10 minutes or so. It will absorb the oil and tighten your pores. (I've done this & it works.)

These are remedies I've read about many times, but haven't tried yet.

You can crush up 6 plain, uncoated aspirin tablets and mix it w/ a little water to make mask.

Or use one of these variations to make a cleanser or mask:

Mixture: 6 crushed aspirins, mixed with the liquid facial cleanser at hand (I usually use either cetaphil or tersaseptic), and 1-2 drops of tea tree oil.

Mix half a teaspoon of crushed tablets with Queen Helene Mint Julep mask and aloe vera gel.

Held 6 aspirin in my palm, and slowly dripped water onto them until they fizzled and dissolved! Once dissolved, I added 2-3 drops of honey into it and mixed it around with my finger. Applied to my face. Keep it on 15-20mins.

Mix 6 aspirin tablets with a little aloe to make a mask.

Use about 6 uncoated tablets, witch hazel, tee trea oil, and aloe to make a thin paste.

For toner:
8 ounce bottle of distilled water add four uncoated aspirin
or
mix of 1/2 water, 1/2 witch hazel, 15 aspirin, and 2 drops of tea tree essential oil and 2 drops of rosemary essential oil

Try AcneFree. Its a cheaper version of ProActive. You can get it at Wal-mart or Target or a drug store. It is a cleanser, toner and repair lotion, you use it twice a day. Also make sure you use oil-free lotions/creams.

It really does work to clear up your skin and change your complexion. I had an oily T-zone and trouble with breakouts, once I started using this, my entire complexion changed. I'm not nearly as oily as I was before and now I don't even have to use foundation (which also adds to your skin being oily).

I also have very oily skin, here are some of my best tricks to combat it!

-Daily regime: Steam your face over a sink of hot water with a towel over your head. This opens pores and lets out impurities and oil. Wash your face as normal, then rinse with VERY cold water to close up pores! This worked wonders for me, seriously.

-The best mask I've found for drying out skin is from Avon - Pure Pore-fection mask. This is great for a quick oil mop-up!

blot the oil off with a tissue in between washings ... consult with a doctor about skin cleansers and fresheners ....... or the pharmacist .... and do not worry about it.... it will clear in time....
