Dogs mentally mature at 3 years of age. But even then, he will still have plenty of spark. Do obedience training now so that both your dog and you know the right commands and proper ways of controlling him. Playful dogs are great, but disrespectful ones are not.

might give him a little more time, but after a year, he should be a little less puppyish. it will take awhile.

when you get home and your dogs all excited, ignore him. wait for him the settled down first before you even give him the slightest amount of attention. you'll see a difference.

watch the dog whisperer, Cesar Milan, this guys knows his stuff. He's on National Geograhic channel i think, if not read up on.

You need to be the dominant one, not your dog. Some good stuff.

It's different for every dog. I have a six year old laid back lab that calmed down around her second birthday. My friend has a lab that 4 years old and it will NOT calm down. Sometimes I even wonder how they get it to sleep!
Sry I couldnt answer ur question, but I hope it helped.

He'll stay hyper for a long time. Both those breeds stay "puppish"
and at 10 months old, hes like a 2 year old in human terms.

You have a big powerful dog that has excess energy that could become a problem and destructive in the future. For your sake and his enroll him in obedience classes and you can learn along with him. You will both enjoy it

He will remain energetic his entire life, high energy levels are characteristics of both breeds. You can help your dog mellow out by providing him with several rigorous exercise sessions per day. If you don't he the likeliness of negative and or destructive behavior done out of boredom is high. Time to go out and play!
