There are many causes of dark circles, from age, heredity, allergies, cold or sinus infection, bone structure and glasses which are not so commonly known.

If you would like to apply home remedies to reduce dark circles, here are some of my suggestions:
Buy a box of regular, old fashioned unflavored gelatin (e.g. Knox) from grocery store. Take a small cup or bowl and put in 1 teaspoon of the gelatin mix. Add one tablespoon of boiling water & stir for a minute. Test it on your wrist to make sure it is not too hot. Then, using a cotton ball, pat it under your eyes as you would an eye cream or gel. Go lie down and listen to some music, or take a bath & let it stay on for at least 30 minutes. Then just rinse it off.Gelatin is very high in Vitamin K & Biotin. It will not remove your dark circles on the first application (but you will notice a difference), but if you do it daily for a week, and then 2-3 times a week for maintenance, you should notice a drastic reduction in dark circles.

Unfortunately, it's probably genetic.
If you have allergies, an anti-histamine can help relieve the dark circles. Also, make sure you are getting enough vitamin K in your diet. If you take a multi-vitamin, you are going to be fine in that aspect.
Finally, I recommend Peter Thomas Roth's Power K Eye Cream. It can help reduce the appearance of the circles.
As for concealers, look for one with a little reflective quality. By reflecting light, it will make your under-eye area look brighter.

A natural way is tea bags or cucumbers on the eyes for about 10-15 minutes. Otherwise there are pretty good creams and lotions like Olay.

I have this problem too and no make-up lasts long enough. I started using Hylexin which about $95.00, I haven't used it long enough to see results but a friend of mine uses it and swears by it. I have used just about every over the counter cream which none of them have worked yet. I know you were looking for natural causes but if your dark circles are bad, nothing natural is really going to work. Hope this helps : )

Do you have sinus trouble? Also, I have the same trouble and since I was diagnosed with sleep apnea and use a CPAP machine, I have much fewer days with the dark eyes. Treating the apnea treated my sinus trouble so find out what is causing the dark eyes...
