I have a 8 month old male cat and 3 others. He's the youngest and isnt fixed yet. i've been in the process of moving the past few weeks. He was the last cat at the house, we left him there because we had to separate him from the female, and we were hoping to find him a new home. But while i was doing moving one day i noticed everytime i walked out the door i'd hear this horrible screaching coming from him, at first i thought there was another animal in there because it almost sounded like two cats fighting. but it was worse then that and when i looked to see while i was outside i didnt see anything. We've brought him to the new house now. He's not adjusting well. He sometimes does this same terrible screaching at the other cats. I've had cats my whole life and never heard anything quite so terrible come from an animal, it sounds like hes being tortured! Expecting a baby in april, it kinda scares me now. i do plan on gettin him fixed in 2 wks. Any advice??

I'm sorry i meant the whole possessed thing as a joke. It just sounds scary, i dont really think he is possessed. lol

I have three cats and know what it is like when a cat screeches. My one female was very badly abused and is terrified by the other two. She lost her tail and I believe her lack of a tail leads to poor communication with the others.
Cats can be upset when things in a house change, such as moving things around. Packing for a move and the actual move can be very traumatic and they react.
It would be a good idea to mention this to your veterinarian. Cats can be given meds to help calm them. There are also training techniques that can help.

That is freaking hilarious! I laughed the whole time i was reading it hahaha. Anyway, the screeching is just your cats individual weirdness. Every cat has some weird thing they do. I think it will definitely help to get the cat fixed because he's probably making those sounds at the other cats because he's territorial and he came up with a way to freak them out. When he doesn't have so much testosterone, he'll chill out. You should record this cat so you can show people the sound he makes hahah

Just get him fixed... it sounds like he is wanting to mate with something ASAP! =) there are alot of agencies around that do low cost spay/neuter... call your local animal shelter and they will point you in the right direction.... with a new baby coming are you sure you want all these cats? Just remember that cats are very curious and will get in the baby's face and can suffocate the baby... SO please be careful!! Also remember that kitties with claws are dangerous to have around babies! I hope this was helpful and congrats on your Baby!!

He seems to be a cat who is real solitary. I had one like that before and did not to be alone. I had the human society adopt him out and they found him a good home where he got lots of attention. He also calmed down a great deal once I got him fixed.
