Dark circles can be caused by Allergies. you might want to try using Claritin to see if that helps, if not, you may want to go see your PCP to make sure there is nothing seriously wrong.

There are many causes of dark circles, from age, heredity, allergies, cold or sinus infection, bone structure and glasses which are not so commonly known.

If you would like to apply home remedies to reduce dark circles, here are some of my suggestions:
Buy a box of regular, old fashioned unflavored gelatin (e.g. Knox) from grocery store. Take a small cup or bowl and put in 1 teaspoon of the gelatin mix. Add one tablespoon of boiling water & stir for a minute. Test it on your wrist to make sure it is not too hot. Then, using a cotton ball, pat it under your eyes as you would an eye cream or gel. Go lie down and listen to some music, or take a bath & let it stay on for at least 30 minutes. Then just rinse it off.Gelatin is very high in Vitamin K & Biotin. It will not remove your dark circles on the first application (but you will notice a difference), but if you do it daily for a week, and then 2-3 times a week for maintenance, you should notice a drastic reduction in dark circles.

I heard that they are genetic. But putting grated potato on the dark circles will help. Also, i have applied the mixture of 2 drops of honey and 3 drops of fresh lemon juice on them and it made a big difference.( i advice you to try this.)
There are other tips i found on web;
1-)Cucumber apply thin slices of cucumber on the dark areas of skin for 5-10 minutes. Rinse eyes with cool water following the treatment.
2-)Teabags - cold, drained teabags calm the skin and reduce swelling. The best ones are herbal teabags that contain chamomile, as this is an anti-inflammatory.
3-)Teaspoons - a quick simple method: simply place 2 teaspoons in the fridge and when they are cold, lie on your back and lay the teaspoons on your dark circles.

They should not contact your eyes.
i hope it will help.

they can be related to your particular skin color, such as mine. i am part mediterranean and have olive toned skin. i tan up swell, but it's just part of my genetic makeup to have dark circles under my eyes. it isn't due to age in my instance, but for some, it is.

for me, it's really weird: i never get darkness under my eyes from lack of sleep, but i get them when i have had quite a GOOD NIGHT'S sleep!

sometimes they are just a result of your skin's elasticity, or, it is the way your eyes are set into your eye sockets.

the things that i find most helpful to me are those silver colored oil caplets in the daytime, sold by private dealers (some hair stylists sell them)--which are not at all greasy, and i also use burt's bees royal jelly eye cream at night and sometimes in the day.

your muscles go through phases of contraction and relaxation when you sleep, therefore, your face can wrinkle up, frown, or smile when you sleep or dream. so then, using a good night moisturizer on your face and an excellent eye cream (the queen's royal jelly is very special and all honey products have highly curative products, but royal jelly is best of all, rare, so it is quite expensive) can reduce the degree of darkness under your eyes.

i also like to use custom blended under eye concealer. i get it custom made at the company called prescriptives, in large department stores. the only reason that i pay for that is because my skin is really not the usual color, so buying the colors offered by the standard cosmetics companies will look phony on me.

Well, sometimes it's because of lack of sleep, but some people just have dark circles under their eyes. I do, but I like mine. You should like yours too.

I think they make creams for it or something if you're that bothered.
