If you don't like it and someone tried it, what would you tell them? I'm 12 weeks preggo and I don't think I'm going to mind if people that I know want to touch it but total strangers in the store might make me feel uncomfortable.

I'm due around Sept. 11th. Nice date, huh?

I liked it, it made me feel special, except when strangers did it.

I WAS offended one time when i was at work when some older guy screamed across the store at me "HEY MAMA!" to get some assistance. I was just kinda like... uhhhh excuse me????

I highly doubt that a complete stranger would touch your belly (unless it's a small child.) But it it does happen to occur, just politely say "Excuse me sir/mam, I knew to this sort of thing and I'm just slightly uncomfortable with people touching my stomach. I'm sorry if I offended you in anyway." Don't be ashamed to say what you feel, they're supposed to be embarrassed, it's the only way they'll learn. Just be polite and speak kindly.

I find it uncomfortable when all people feel my belly. Its a very personal thing to me and just makes me feel weird. I love when my husband touches my belly or my little daughter though. I get weirded out when co-workers just come up out of the blue. I guess some family would be OK

I didn't like people touching my stomach before I got pregnant and then obviously when you get pregnant and your belly starts to show people want to touch it, there were only a few people I would let touch my stomach because even though I knew I was pregnant I still didn't want people touching my tummy it is like a phobia I have or something I don't know, but I was adamant about letting people know not to touch my stomach especially people I didn't know

I've always wondered about that. Non-pregnant women are allowed to freak out if a stranger pats their belly, but a pregnant woman is just supposed to smile and take it? I'd say be polite and firm "I'd appreciate it if you didn't pat my belly" should be enough. Hopefully strangers (and friends) have the sense to ask you before they lunge for the bump.

I loved it when people touched my belly with my first child of course people i know but not strangers but sometimes its hard to be rude when someones being excited for you so i i always just let it happen it was usually over quickly

I think people just get naturally happy to see a preggy belly. I wouldn't mind, and I don't think they mean to be rude. It's just a way of showing affection. This world would be a better place if strangers were nicer to each other.

I never mined people I knew touching my belly , but I did have to politely ask a few people to please not pat my belly. Try to find a non-rude way of telling them you don't fell comfortable with them touching you, some people see a pregnant woman and don't stop and think about whether it's OK to rub or pat her belly. Congrats and good luck

i don't like when strangers try to touch me either. if you think that is bad wait till you have the baby and total strangers think its ok to try to touch the baby too. i say put a stop to it now. when someone goes to touch my prego belly i back up and just say no i don't think so. and they don't. they probally just think its me being hormonal but who really cares if i offend some stranger maybe that will stop that person from doing that to some one else. good luck and congrats.

I agree with you 100%. If it is someone i know than ok but if a complete stranger has enough nerve to touch a pregnant woman's bell that they don't even know i would say something,
