I did not injure my elbow and it is not sore yet it looks strange and feels like a bag of water is under my skin. The skin is a little red. The swelling is the size of a small egg and it really feels strange like it is full of fluid. Any idea what this is, it is so odd?

If you do not have elbow pain, I would think it is not bursitis (which I've had in my elbow and found to be very painful) but rather a cyst. Fluid filled cysts can frequently be drained with a needle, but the elbow can be tricky and not as easy to drain with a needle like a knee.

I recommend you check with a doctor. It's not an emergency, but something that you should have looked at and monitored. Some cysts can be indicative of arthritis, etc... later on, so having a discussion with a doctor now is a good idea.

good luck -

you may just have fluid around your joints. this can come from a sprain which isnt always sore. or you could have whats commonly referred to as tennis elbow and pain may actually come and go. try some tylenol or any other NSAID. which is non sterodial anti-inflamtion drug. If that doesnt work within a couple of days you might want to see a doctor

It could be bursitis. Your joints contain a liitle sac called the bursa sac and when it gets inflamed it retains water, thus the feeling of fluid. Take a NSAID (non steroidal anti-inflammatory drug) until you can see a doctor.
