Not all the patterns we perceive are false. Since I believe that everything is God, and nature, I see God everywhere always. Not limited to what is desirable to me, so any pattern I might momentarily see is certain to become muddled in the next instant. It's a very fluid religion to be sure.

I think it's a little more than just seeing patterns. For example, the metamorphosis of a caterpillar in to a moth is a great way of telling the resurrection story. It's not a "proof" of God's existence by any stretch (not to our standards of evidence), but it's interesting.

No, only if you are not understanding to God concept. There are many Divine interpretations that exist in Nature. For example. Wicca Four elements, Four chemicals that make up every DNA sequence.
But it goes beyond that for me. I;ve seen to much to be an Atheist. I've seen Ghosts and Faeries and I wasn't alone. Maybe someday you scientists will make us a time machine and I'll take you back to witness them.

There is an evolutionary advantage to recognizing patterns in order to provide food for ourselves and protect ourselves. However, apophenia is a term that describes the human tendency to spontaneously perceive connections and meaningfulness in unrelated phenomena. It is a common human occurrence, and explains beliefs in ghosts, Indian summer, Friday the 13th superstitions, and theism.

You mean you've never seen a bunny shape in the clouds? How sad. You definitely need to go on more picnics and lie on the grass more this summer.

No. We don't literally see God. We see the complexity and uniformity of nature and recognize that some mastermind must have been behind it. It's too perfect to have come together by chance... or in other words... on accident.

No. Seeing God in nature is more like seeing man's creative efforts in a new car. You didn't see it built, but common sense tells you that it didn't just build itself, or "evolve" from minerals in the ground.

Not exactly the same. When we see bunnies in the clouds, we see bunny shaped clouds. When we see God in nature we don't see His image, just His abilities.

I see many signs in clouds...faces mostly. I think it's like the angels and the higher power wants us to see them and that is their way for us humans on earth.
They love us so much, they really want to communicate in any way they can.
