It really depends on what other sources of water they have, if you give them canned cat food that is moist and wet, they don't seem to need it as much, and if the food they have is high in protein and sodium, they will need more than usual to help the digestive system. It is winter, and if there is snow, she could be eating the snow as well. Cats don't salivate as much as dogs, so they need less water.

Hi.I dont think many cats like drinking from their own bowls, ive found leaving a bit of water in the bath around the plug area works for some cats and even better if you leave a tap slightly dripping.I have seen some cats drinking from puddles outside so i guess your cat must be getting it from somewhere too.If she seems well and happy do not worry about it,i am sure she is finding water somewhere.
Another suggestion is try some milk in her bowl instead of water as most cats are more than happy to lap that up.
Hope this can be of some help.

Cats drink what, and when, they want. As long as the water you offer is clean, fresh and in a clean bowl (or tray), then you don't have to worry about how much. Really!
IF however, your cat begins to hang around the water bowl, or begins to drink a lot more than usual, it means that kitty is not feeling well, and needs to go to the Vet.

Cats seem to drink when and where they want - usually anywhere other than nice clean water in their own bowl. I keep a couple of bowls in the garden and frequently see my cat drinking from them rather than indoors. My cat also likes to drink from the running bathroom tap - why!! However if you cat suddenly starts to drink lots then it may be time for a check up at the Vet

As long as there's always water available cats will drink as much as they need! However, some are really fussy and don't like chemicals in tap water, so filtered water would be better. If you really want to spoil your cat they loveloveLOVE drinking from water fountains and they'll drink loads from one. Our cats have a trickling water feature type thing and they adore it, they never drink from a normal bowl any more!

Don't worry about not seeing a cat drinking.
They drink very little. The time to be worrying is when they drink a LOT. This is a sign of kidney problems which is the most common fatal disease in cats. They are very susceptable to kidney disease and should be taken to a vet if drinking too much.

Cats really don't drink very much as a general rule. They have the ability to really concentrate their urine (this is the reason that their urine has such an odor). On average, a cat drinks less than 1 cup of water a day.

Cats actually don't drink very much. That is just how they are. they get their water from their food. if your cat eats wet food then she won't drink much at all. with dry food they drink a little more. if you see a cat drinking a lot of water then there is something wrong with the cat.

Hi, Cat's are funny animals they never seem to drink from their bowl, they always want to drink from out of a dripping tap, or a puddle outside I put a fancy bowl on my hearth so it looks like an ornament but i put water in it so i can monitor if my cat's are drinking or not.
