if you have a hanging accident where your oxygen has been cut off can it cause brian injury that can come up years later

why are you hanging yourself until you fant then let your brain have oxygen all of a sudden. cause i know ppl that do that. and a kid killed himself doing that so it's nto the thing to be doing.

if lack of oxygen to the brain is going to affect your brain will usually be apparent directly after the incident. You might want to have a CAT scan or PET scan to see how your brain is functioning and the doctor can see inactive parts of your brain if there is any. but as for it coming up later in life, probably not.

usually its followed by death soon after
not many people get to have years later
and yes enough time with out oxigen
can cause brain injury

I would think it would happen immediately. However babies born with cords around their necks do not show signs neccesarily for a couple years down the road

I would say that any lasting effects would happen suddenly not later in years.
