Could this be my thermostat, also what colour of antifreeze should I use for this make and model?

My husband was going to add coolant to-day but when he took the radiator cap off, he said the coolant bubbled up as if it was too full, any suggestions? Could this still be all tied into the thermostat or a blockage somewhere, please help this van is burying us in repairs.

Yes is sounds like your thermostat is stuck open.

You're probably getting heat when the car is not moving (ie your idling), no heat when you're moving because the radiator is cooling the coolant too quickly.

Anti-freeze, use the standard ethylene glycol (greenish/yellow).

if the thermostat was just replaced and still no heat, could see if the heater core is not plugged. but since u said coolant is bubbling as if its over full you could have a head gasket leak or cracked or warped head

just a thought

It could also be low on coolant.
I would use the Prestone for all makes and models.
