i want to dowload limewire but im afraid i might get lots of viruses from it. will it help if i download an antivirus thingy? and which free antivirus blah should i go for?

if your using limewire to download anything other then a mp3 file , your puting your self at very high risk .
as for antivirus software i use AVG , a simple google seach for it is all you need to do

No antivirus product is perfect. Some viruses will slip in, no matter what you do. Virus writers love to use Limewire and other P2P networks to spread their viruses because they know you can't complain - downloading commercial music, software and video files without paying for them is illegal, and you can't complain if you got a virus instead of a song because then you'll be confessing to a crime. Using Limewire to download illegally also leave you vulnerable to a lawsuit. Copyright law says that the penalty is $750.00 - $150,000.00 per song illegally downloaded, but the RIAA usually settles for around $10,000.00.

you'll still download them, yes. But your antivirus software may catch them tho. It's not a sure thing by any means. When you are download stuff from Limewire it's risky, music, videos, it doesn't matter.

If your gonna get limewire only download music on it. You should be fine with antivirus protection ill give you a link for both.

downloading limewire dosent give u viruses.
it depends on what u download from limewire.
better just use it for music and videos.

I really like Limewire, I'm actually an avid user of it. If I want to download a music file I use Limewire always. you should get limewire too. Limewire is a safe and reliable program but like all peer to peer program you have to be careful of what you are donwloading from it. You always have to be cautious about what you download.
Don't use torrents/downloads from other sites, they might be backdoored.

Just make sure you know what you are downloading....don't download stupid stuff and you should be fine.
