My bf of 3 1/2 years just recently broke up with me and he still wants to remain friends. The problem is i still have strong feelings for him. I told him how i feel and he told me that we just wouldnt work out as a couple. I cannot get over him because i still love him and i cant seem to move on.

Don't give in to being his friend. If you love him, the friendship will never work. He should know to not ask you to be "just friends" if he knows you love him. It seems that he's going to just try to keep you in his life for his own selfish needs but not think of yours. Just beware of the situation. You especially don't want to get into the "friends with benefits" thing 'cause that will just mess you up even more. I know it's hard and it hurts, but you need to just walk away and let him be. Nothing good can come from being his friend. As much as you would rather want to settle for being friends then to lose him completely, it's just so much smarter to remove him from your life. It'll be hard but stay strong and life will deal you a good guy in the future. Don't ever settle, we all deserve the best.

It's hard to answer this not knowing how old you are.
I don't want to be answering a 15 year old.

But if you are an adult, do not be his Friend. The only former boyfriends you can be friends with are the ones you don't like. If he is saying he wants to be your friend he is just trying to be nice and wants to still get into your pants when he can't find anything else.

The best thing to do is to cut him off completely. No calls, no texts, no drivebys, no talking to his family, don't ask mututal friends about him, get some new friends cuz I'm sure you guys had the same friends, get some new clothes and hairstyle..you work it girl. Keep yourself busy, go to the gym go dancing just do stuff for yourself. (No drunk dialing)

Since you still have feelings for him, it would be a bad idea to be friends just now. He needs to give you time to get over him as he has gotten over you. I know it will be hard for you to move on and you will have to give yourself time to grieve the end of this relationship. In time, you will begin to feel better. Right now you are convinced you will hurt forever, but trust me, you will one day find that special someone! Best of luck to you!

You need to distance yourself from him as much as possible until you're truly "over" him. You don't have to be rude to him, but staying friends by talking, hanging out, etc. will only hurt you more. Explain that to him and I'm sure he'll understand.

If trying to be friends with him will prevent you from moving on.. don't feel bad about not staying friends. Just tell him you can't do it and he should understand.
Just take care of yourself and do what you need to do to move on.

Sorry to say this, just move on and maybe when he sees you with another man he will change his mind but then it may be too late

YOU CAN'T BE JUST FRIENDS IF YOU REALLY LOVED THAT PERSON. THEN YOU CAN NEVER GO BACK TO JUST BEING FRIENDS I WAS IN SIMILAR SITUATION ME AND MY EX ARE NOT ON SPEAKING TERMS BECAUSE HE WANTED TO STILL SLEEP WITH ME AND SAY THAT WE WERE FRIENDS I COULD NOT DO THAT BECAUSE IT WAS JUST TO PAINFUL SO I HAD TO LEAVE HIM ALONE
