It is not a benzodiazepine. It's not used as a tranquilizer. It stricktly targets sore muscles. I take it. It doesn't affect me like a tranquilizer, at all. It simply helps with my neck pain.

Flexeril is a Cyclobenzaprine (sye-kloe-BEN-za-preen), not a Benzodiazepine (tranquiizer) and is used to help relax muscles. Used for pain relief, stiffness, and discomfort caused by strains, sprains, or injuries to your muscles. Cyclobenzaprine acts on the central nervous system (CNS) to produce its muscle relaxant effects.

Flexeril is a muscle relaxer. It will help with inflammations too, like inflamed nerves. But don't drink with it, and don't drive while on it, it should make you groggy.
