Downloading most "new" software for free is called piracy and it's illegal. Here are some LEGAL sites for downloading software. The downloads are free, but not all of the programs are.

As an addon - most of the sites offering key generators or serials for software contain trojans that automatically install when you visit them.
If you really need to visit these sort of sites because you lost your original cd keys - it does happen ( happened to me with Tiberian Sun moved the CDs to a folder , threw away the cases which had the key on! ) - then best to access on a Linux computer or if you have to use Windows , then make sure you are HEAVILY protected from everything.
Reason for a Linux pc , is that if the site tries to install a trojan etc you just get a pop up window saying site www.xxxxxxx is trying to run a program .exe or .bin which can't be run ) .
As a Linux user , I laugh at these messages - with Windows you would be infected without even knowing what happened.
There are other sites on the net for commercial software etc but the best sites to use are those that are membership only. Open sites like mininova, piratebay , torrentspy etc are open to everybody to see what you are doing including the authorities so are very risky.
Best to d/l a trial version and if you like then buy.
