I've tried, but most of my friends smoke. I'm not getting new friends, but I at least want to slowly stop. Any suggestions?

Slowly stopping never worked for me. Cold turkey is what worked for me. Just a matter of taste, I guess. Some people will jump into the (cold) swimming pool to get the cold shock over with, others want to go in slowly. Either way it's going to be very unpleasant for a while. Good luck!

ill tell u what i was a smoker since i was 15 yo. i stoped till i was 24...i tried everything .i trieed crew gums untill i got so adicted that i couldnt smoke a cigarrete without a peace of gum.( lol funny but truth )..what i would recomend u to do is..smoke as much cigarretes as u can in the next following week, smoke even when u dont need it..trust me u will get sick of it and then set up ur mind that after those days ..u will stop....

its all psicological...if u really wanna quit..ull work ur way true it..

Use the patch........or if you really want to smoke something good use weed it is healthier than Cigarrettes no matter what you think and if you don't believe me make a true research and compare both......tell me who kills more people around the world or if you want to make it easier in your city!!!

you will be amazed with your findings and most likely become a new believer!!!

just make up your mind your going to quite and stop right then and there.
I did and I'm glad i did.
this is something you haft to do for your own self and take the stand to stop for good.
though out your ash trays and stop buying the packs of smokes and tell your friends your going to stop smoking and you don't want them to smoke around you for a while.
this can help you out a lot.
then when you feel like you need one.
go for a walk and replace it with good health.
good luck.

My bestfriend smoked 2 packs a day. She saw the most grueling commercial and quit cold turkey. At first I thought it was a joke so I offered her one but her looking at it made her nauseaus.

slowly stopping didnt work for me.
when you say that you are tricking yourself.
you will feel not weel anyway for some days when you stop, also when you smoke a litle bit.

Using nicotine patch helped me enourmously. It really is turning a switch in your head

good luck

the patch worked for me(i've been smoke free for 2 years). the important thing for me was not to really change my friends, social schedule, ect. i know this sounds cliched, but you just really, really, have to want to quit. and quit for yourself, not for someone else. if you go into it without being 100% you'll just start up again.

Drink water and take something to keep your hands buzy! Stop it fast! "Slowly" is like you are not quiting!

I found that when i had a craving, i would hold my hands over an open flame. That totally made me forget about the craving.
