okay, it seems i need to clarify some key points. My boyfriend is the greatest but i don't have the most understanding nor the most unjudemental family in the world, i feel like they would judge my boyfriend and i dont want him to go through that embarrasement. He is very angry that i will not present him to my family is my family being judgemental and not understanding a good reason why i don't present him???

Irregardless of your family members being judgmental, your BF sounds like a real man who can handle his own. Let him be that man, girl! Introduce him, and what will be will be. The last thing you want is for this to become an issue in your relationship, especially since it can be so easily resolved.

Are you ashamed of him or your family? Why would you not want to introduce him to them? You have your own reasons for doing so, but after a year and a half if hes a Keeper, and you have a reasonably sane family, then why not introduce him to them.

well, why have you waited so long?? i'm guessing either you're family is super strict and old fashioned and you are afraid they won't like him or scare him away. or you don't feel that close to your family. Or you're waiting for something about him to change so he's not a shock to them. It's either something with your family or your boyfriend. If he doesn't want to meet them yet then ask yourself why he's stalling. If he's afraid they will pressure him to marry you or something. hopefully you've talked about it with your family especially if it bothers them. i know it would bother my parents. but if you've been together for 1 1/2 years then i don't understand why you wouldn't let them meet him. but that's your decision.

I don't think it's right, but it's also not wrong, because there might be a reason you don't want to do this, and if you don't think this is serious, that might be a good reason not to present them to the family.

Well that depends. Is your family interested in meeting your boyfriend?? If so, then yes. Are you embarrassed of your boyfriend?? If you are embarrassed of your boyfriend then you need to just back off and find someone new.

Of course. U don't have to prove anything to your family. It's all good unless u r only not introducing him because u r ashamed.

A year + is a long time not to introduce him to your family. You should have done this along time ago. Is there something wrong with him?
