plate tectonics are and were in motion, yes the earth was once vastly different from the way it is today, most of the water was under the ground (this was one of the sources of the mass amounts of water during the flood) as to ask if i think all the continents were once connected, well they still are. land under water is still land.
since God is light, and also is omnipresent, i'm pretty sure that He'd let us see the stars that He's created before our time is up.
crude oil is being processed today in a matter of hours with the same effects the natural occuring oils have, using animal parts, put under high pressure and heat. the occurence of oil in nature is the effect of millions of gallons of water flooding the earth, causing extreme pressure (which is how oil forms in the first place) as for the metamorphic rocks, they are found deep in the earth's crust, near magma flows which change the look of rocks anyhow. that could take a matter of minutes, as opposed to millions of years.
we don't need to discredit science. real, observable, studiable science goes hand in hand with the Biblical account of creation and the flood.
why is the oldest living organism a maximum of 4500 years old (tree ring dating is not exact, it could be much younger)? (the Biblical story puts a flood not too many years before this) if the earth is in fact billions of years old, should there not be an older tree somewhere?

Nowhere in the Bible does it say how old the earth is. To God, a day is as 1000 years and 1000 years is as a day. It just implies that the Spoken Word (the creator) of God created the heavens and the earth in 6 days (6000 years) actually meaning; the surrounding atmoshpere and land mass suitable for life on earth for His new creations, then God rested (ceased from creating) on the seventh day (the 7000th year). God created the universe and everything in it. We do not believe the earth was created in 6000 years. Your information is incorrect......It has been almost 6000 years since our creation. We are at the very end of Bible prophecy, so at the end of those 6000 years Jesus Christ will return soon (in our lifetime) to judge the wicked (the living and the dead). It doesn't really matter how old the earth is, but it does matter where you stand with God on JUDGMENT DAY!!

First off, you're speaking mainly out of your own prejudice and ignorance.
"Is there any science you will not try to discredit because it conflicts with the Bible?" Yes, plenty. Realize that most Christians do not feel the slightest inclination to discredit any science, except for some evolution. Most Christians do feel annoyance when science tries to assume for itself the authority to speak about the purpose and meaning of life. Things that cannot be determined by observing test tubes (and science is supposed to be inductive).
Moreover, a number of creationists believe that the earth is more, much more than 6000 years old. You're merely setting up a strawman to knock down.
If you want to discredit Christianity, I suggest you do your homework.

As long as those plates slid thousands of miles in just a few thousand years, I think they're ok with it
Kind of like the Grand Canyon being carved by the flood only 4500 years ago

There is one science christians will not discredit - economics. Christians ignore what the bible has to say about the wealth and possessions. I guess putting "in god we trust" on the money absolved them from it.
I wonder if earthquakes and volcanoes occur because continental plates have free will and have chosen to be evil?

The cretins - oops, creationists - wouldn't see a logical conclusion if it hit them between the eyes.
The creationazis are Keystone Kops and scientists are Sherlock Holmes.

The 6000-year-old-Earth people pretty much negate all of modern science, not just evolution. They throw out biology, geology, and large parts of physics and chemistry.

Of course they don't.
How can plate tectonics be real if their god made earth.
Because we all know he wouldn't have made anything that would cause earthquakes, volcanos, death, destruction, misery etc etc don't we.
In my opinion plate tectonics is the same as evolution
PROOF THAT THERE IS NO GOD

Great question, and you have certainly "done your homework", by the way. How sad that, whenever the subject is science, Christians seem to all have dogs that eat theirs.
