What is best brand? How long does it last? Will ALL of it come out since my hair is light?

There are temporary shades of brunette, but nothing lasting just a day. And the problem with going darker is that temporary shades will stain the hair shaft, so it's not as temporary for blonde girls as you might think. Try Clairol.com's try it on studio, and if you decide you really do want to go brunette, get thee to a salon to get it looking the way it should. At home coloring tends to look unnaturally monochromatic and blocky. You should also know, once you go brunette, it's very, very difficult to go back to blonde (you can't do it at home). Gotta be lookign to commit.

Be very careful when colouring blonde hair,I have blonde hair and i tried going red for a change i bought a wash out dye, it was only to last for 6 washes but it lasted months, The lighter your hair is the longer the colour lasts

Take a photo, load it into photoshop or whatever art package you use and experiment with colours on there and find out what you like.
Brown dyes are meant for darker hair colours and even if it is a wash out dye it will leave a residue - your hair will not return to the same colour as before.

No you cant but an idea if not in to the whole wig thing is:- that you could try having some lowlights put in and then u can go brown naturally and doesn't give you the ultimate shock factor

Go to a costume shop and ask them. They have all sorts of colorings that wash out.

Why don't you go to a wig shop and try them on. John Lewis may sell them. Just tell them that you are thinking of going brunette and they will probably let you try them.
