Instead of cottage cheese which isn't that great for him, mix together wet and dry dog food

I probably wouldn't use cottage cheese since it can throw off the calcium phosphorus ration . Buy some canned dog food and mix it with his food if you want to supplement it with something tasty. However, almost no dog will starve itself to death. If you are feeding a good quality kibble and you offer it to the dog in a bowl twice a day for 15 minutes each time and then pick it up and don't give him treats or scraps between the two meals , I feel certain he will learn to eat. This is of course assuming your vet tested him for worms or other things that might cause him to be too thin.

First, I would consider opting for a mix of kibble and canned food. Go high end for the canned, Solid Gold, Canidae or Royal Canin.

Supplement with plain yoghurt, mixed with a hard boiled egg (chopped up).

Maybe give him (once in awhile, raw beef or lamb that has been ground into hamburger-raw)

There are advocates for a raw food diet for dogs. Meaning alot of raw chicken breast, beef, lamb and turkey necks. This takes a bit of time in weighing out the appropriate amounts for each meal (but they can be frozen and de-thawed). People I know have made friends with their butcher and get good deals on bulk.

Dogs love cheese. Another idea is to add a little water to the dry food. Most dogs don't like dry dog food. Also you can add some Parmesan Cheese to his dog food dogs love it. Petsmart and Petco sell gravies to add to dog food that are packed with vitamins. Using those would also help.

Edited to add that regular cheese and cottage cheese should be 'treats' not an everyday thing.

Try mixing Chicken Broth with the food instead and heat it first or mix canned dog food with dry I had a picky eater too.

Try another dry food. He might not like the one you feed him. The cottage cheese might start to affect his tummy.

It's actually a great idea to mix things into his kibble to get him to eat!

I'd wouldn't stick with dairy though; it will upset his digestion. You can add any kind of rice, vegetables, garlic, pumpkin, raw or cooked meats... Raw bones are a great treat, too. One of my dog's favorites is raw egg with a little bit of honey.

Just be sure to avoid cooked bones, chocolate, onions, raisins, and salt. Oh, and beans. I found that one out the hard way! Yikes...
