Which hurt more.....?

Question

i just got my ears pierced for the second time. Now i have 5 tattoos and none of them hurt but the ear piercing did. the tattoo was a sting then it went away but the ear piercing was is just constent. what do you think hurts more? tattoo or ear piercing.

i think piercings are worse than tattoos because tattoos hurt while your getting them and after they don't hurt at all but piercings don't hurt while you get them but after they do and for the next few days even weeks they hurt. id rather get a lot of tattoos that piercings.

Well a tattoo hurts more in the process of getting it done. I have 3. I also have double ears pierced, but I got those when I was much younger. If your ear is STILL throbbing. It might be infected and you need to be clean it with rubbing alcohol and then some neosporin. You have to take care of your ears just like you do tattoos. Piercing is a one second thing, your tattoo is a constant needle poking in you for 15mins to hours....can't really compare the two, my opinion.

I don't currently have any tattoos, but I have my ears pierced 5 times 3 on bottom, 2 on top on both ears.. I also have my tongue pierced, honestly the only thing that hurt was gettin my bottom lobes pierced the second, and third time, the top didn't hurt at all, my ears got hot for a little while, and my tongue got swollen, and it was hard to eat.. But all in all tongue doesn't hurt at all amazingly enough, I was scared, but it was over before I knew it..

Well there is different ways to pierce your ears so that it won't hurt but tattoos will always have a little sting, So I think that tattoo's hurt worst.

when I got to the 3rd holes in my ears it got more into cartilage and hurt big-time and for a couple weeks.
I was careful and kept 'em super-clean to make sure the pain wasn't from an infection (it wasn't).
I've heard the farther up the ear you go the more painful it is and the longer it takes to heal.
I think the pain of the tattoos wore off much faster, but I think the overall pain of the ankle tattoo was worse than the ear piercings.

Tattoos hurt more. Piercings are over and done with in less than 5 minutes, tattoos take atleast 20 minutes from beginning to end, even with a small design.

It all depends on where the peircing / tattoo is and depends on personal pain tolerance. I personally thought that all my ear peircings (cartilage also) didn't hurt much at all. My belly ring hurt, nose didn't. My tatoo's didn't hurt much either, but both were on fleshy parts of the body so I didn't expect much. I've heard that bony sections and elbows hurt a whole lot. And I'm sure there are some select parts that peircings are just plain no fun.

To me, tattoos hurt more but its still not all that bad of a pain at all.

But it really depends on the piercing and the tattoo. Depending on location of it one could definitely be worse than the other.

i personaly have a high pain threshold, so i dont think either hurts to bad. I prefear getting tattoed (i have 10) as i dont like the quickness and the shock of the peircing. Also i find piercings take a lot longer to heal. My ear cartlidge took 2 years where my tats take about 10days. But i must say with my feet tats i was close to crying!

i had no problem with any of my piercings, except the ears. but my ears are retarded and can't handle anything through them. i'm allergic to everything in my ears, maybe that is why they hurt so bad.

tattoos hurt me, but it wasn't anything horrendous that would stop me from getting more.

can't wait to get more tattoos.

and to Nikki S. you are WAY too young to get a tattoo. you have to be 18 and no respectable tattoo shop or artists will do that. i suggest you wait until your 18th birthday.
