The trick is packing that will absorb the shock of hitting the ground and pass the vibrations away from the egg. I would look at a series of cones of paper (old newpaper?) nestled into a container filled with paper folded into shapes that are rigid but have open space. (Think corregated cardboard--if you drop a packed corregated box on it's corner, the corner crumples, but the box and it's contents stay more or less together.) If you could fold paper into rigid shapes with a lot of air between the cells, then several nesting cones with the egg somehow kept toward the top of the cone, you should be okay. (It wouldn't hurt to weight the center bottom, so that your vessel falls straight down to impact and collapse where you it to fold.) Be sure to pack something secure over the top of the top cone, so that your egg doesn't roll out and break after the drop.

well; it's possible to use a warmed up cantaloupe (w/ all the "guts" still inside)-just microwave it for like 30-45 secs; then drill a hole just big enough for the egg; then u could tape the hole over; make sure that the cantaloupe is alittle more aged; and u can tell it's age by sniffing the ends of the melon; if it smells fruity; it is good and ripe......hope this helps...(but make sure that the melon is not shriveled or decaying...it will have dark/weak spots in it....highly critical to ur sucess)

Put the egg in a round, enclosed container with padding around the edges so if the egg bounces around (which it WILL), it won't break- thanks to the padding.
