My mom was medicated Paxil (25mg) and I undersand they make you sleepy, drowsy or w/e it is. But I just wanted to know if by just drinking one you are supposed to act like if you drank five because she acts like she's high. She walks like a drunk, and five seconds later asks where she was because she doesn't remember anything. I recently found alcohol in her room and probably that's the reason why too. Do any of you know if paxil is supposed to make you that bad?

I've been taking Paxil for about 6 months now. Paxil generally doesn't have that effect on people, unless they're under the influence of alcohol.

Paxil is a popular anti-depressant. You should never drink alcohol while taking that medication. She needs to stop and you need to contact hr doctor and see what you can do to help her. This is a very serious situation.

Mixing alcohol with ANY medication is NOT a good idea. Matter of fact it is a form of suicide really especially with an anti-depressant. 2 downers together, that is dangerous, get her some help ASAP
