Mow my lawn, lol.
Seriously, things like that are what I'd appreciate the most. When my husband is deployed, everything falls on me. We're about to have a baby, and for the life of me I can't figure out how to get my grass cut over this next deployment. I can't exactly leave the baby inside while I do it. Help around the house, and maybe some free child care would be a lifesaver.
My husband hates when people want to thank him and make a big deal out of his job, but a little assistance around the house would help us both when he is deployed. Less stress on me means less for him to worry about while he's trying to do his job.

On Yahoo Q&A, help defraud the people against the troops. We are out there as ordered and we are helping other countries. We do this because we have been asked by the right people. Help to enlighten the people posting against the soldiers. It's the soldiers who could be needed to save America and with people like the radicals on these boards, it makes it hard to want to save the American people should it come down to it.

Sara, good question. When someone is deployed that leaves a gap in a home. If you know a family member that is in this position they may have there hands full trying to be mom and dad. Maybe they have young children and a full time job. There are things like maybe mowing their lawn, or making them a meal and bring it over. Offer a shoulder to lean on. Sometimes they just want someone to talk to. Any little thing maybe just a card to let them know you are thinking of them. They don't ask for much but whatever you do would be appreciated.

First of all, don't assume that we are all pro-war, pro-president neo-conservatives.
Second, increase the necesary health and disability benefits (which have been vastly reduced under Bush) so that our relatives can have access to the physical and mental care that they need.
Third, work tirelessly to bring them home, They are there for unjust and immoral purposes and their lives have been put at risk for the profit of a few rich men. We cannot allow this to continue.
Fourth, contact your local congressmen. Let them know that while they are still there, you want them to have access to the best and safest equipment, and that they shouldn't have to pay for these out of pocket. Bush and his Halliburton friends are making enough money off of this war, surely they can give a little towards ensuring that our soldiers have the best access to the safest equipment!
For those you know well who's wives or husbands are away, offer to babysit their kids for a bit, so that they can go out with friends and destress a bit.
These are a few suggestions, I'm sure that there are more out there.

Scream and holler and let our elected officials know they need to take better care of the men and women who fight for our country.

Back the soldier by telling your politicians that you want to win, not run like babies.
