Symptoms: High Stress (getting Engineering degree, found out not going to graduate on time, getting married in 2 months), throwing up multiple times a day, not sick (no cold, no fever, no flu), daily has "spells" (out of the blue has to stop and be still, breaks out into a sweat, gets really red, dizzy, head twitches, throws up and it's over). Has been to the doctor, can't find anything wrong. Has had CAT scans, MRI, PET scan, heart monitor, blood work all done last year. The head twitching is new, and the multiple times a day throwing up is new, and didn't happen last year. Between last year's doctor visit and now, symptoms disappeared for several months.

What's going on?

Sorry I left you with the wrong impression. It's not me. It's the fiance of my student assistant.
He's been to a neurologist. And is at the doctor's office right now to see if this doctor wants to refer him to a different neurologist or what.
I really don't think it's split personality, but will pass that along just to hedge the bet.
Last years neurologist said they couldn't find anything showing any mini-seizures, but gave meds for it any way. He didn't take them as side effects were worse than the symptoms.
I think it's stress. Every engineer I know (I know a lot of them) went through major stress in college. Throwing up multiple times a day, head aches, staying sick (although he's not), and all kinds of things. What worries me is the head twitching thing.

Based on the symptoms described above, it seems that you may have an anxiety disorder. It sounds like you are under a great deal of stress (with respect to your studies and upcoming marriage) and you cannot ignore the mind-body connection - it's very powerful. There may not physically be anything wrong with you; it could be the anxiety that is causing you to throw up and break out into sweats, etc. You mentioned that your symptoms disappeared for several months between doctor's appointment - did you have major stressors in your life at that time?

I encourage you to make an appointment with a psychiatrist. If it is anxiety that is causing these terrible symptoms, the psychiatrist may prescribe an anti-anxiety medication or anti-depressant in concert with psychotherapy. If it is not an anxiety disorder, the psychiatrist might be able to help you ascertain what is causing the problem.

Regardless, you need to get to the bottom of what is causing these problems so you can treat them effectively and start your marriage on a good note (the Engineering degree will work itself out; you'll still graduate - it just may be a year or two later, and in the long-run, will that really matter?). Anyway, take some deep breaths, do some relaxation techniques, and try to keep all these things in perspective. And, do not forget to make an appointment to visit a doctor!

He needs to see a neurologist. Something is seriously wrong and it's not just stress. If you have a big teaching hospital like Johns Hopkins, the Mayo Clinic, or Mass. General nearby, he should check himself in for diagnostic tests.

It might be stress, but I wouldn't assume that it is. Those are pretty serious-sounding symptoms! Go back to the doctor, or find another doctor and get a second opinion.
