I was recently told by gyne that I have cyst in my breasts.
I also have them on my ovaries. I've been on the patch for 2 months already. I've had a light headache since last week and pain in my right breast and my lower right side belly. I am on vicodin for the pain since thats the only thing that I can take nothing else works.

I've been to the ER a million times and they don't do anything to me since its the same thing I go for over and over. I am feeling very depressed because it seems like no one cares. =(

I've had to switch Doctors too because they want to wait...and see if the cyst go down..I can't wait any longer..

Thank you in advance for your opinions.

I have Pelvic Congestion Syndrome, had Ovarian Cysts which had to be surgically removed, and also have a retroverted uterus. I suffered for 5 years before I found a doc willing to look deep enough to find all of this out. I too would be on narcotics, which would help, and then get them snatched away by doctors who called me an "addict" because the drugs worked for me. I tried everything possible, BC, Lupron, anti-inflammatories, nothing worked but the narcotics. Finally, my gyn sent me to pain management. I now take Oxycontin every day and have Oxy IR for breakthrough pain. It has been a life-changing Godsend. I have my life back... I couldn't get out of bed or function or even make love to my husband before, now I work, have lost 20 pounds, and can do all the things the I want and need to do. Don't be afraid or ashamed to take the narcotics if you need them, if you take them EXACTLY as prescribed by your doc, there is a less than 1% chance you will become addicted. Try pain management. The docs are compassionate and care about your comfort. My doc is a diplomate member of this organization, the website will help you find a member doc in your area: http://www.aapainmanage.org/search/MemberSearch.php

Good luck to you, and if you need an ear to bend, feel free to e-mail me.

I dont know if this will help any - I dont know about cysts but I was told I had cystafibratory muscles which has now since (25 years ago) redefined as fibromyalgia.

Much pain is from muscles below is an example of what may help (based on headaches).
Begin with a couple swigs of molasses or a couple of bananas daily - magnesium (which regulates many things in the body) and potassium (a needed building block for muscles).
Drink at least 1/2 gallons of water per day. Running a body low on water is like running a car low on oil is the analogy the head of neurology at UCDavis told my husband about 10 years ago.

Now to the cause - muscles - your back, neck shoulders and head have tender spots. They are knots in the fibers of the muscles called trigger points. It makes the muscles tight which makes them press on nerves and other things causing the pain.

The cure - start with a professional massage, you will also want to go back over any place you can get to 6-12 times per session up to 6 times per day rubbing (or lightly scratching on your head) every where that is tender until the knots go away. The place where the skull connects to the spine press up under the edge of the skull (to get to those muscles).

For more information read The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies. It teaches what to do and where the pain comes from.

Im not a doctor, or have any degree in the medical field, but I do know from experience that 'functional' cysts, shouldnt be that painful, usually there is a little discomfort, or no discomfort at all. I think that you should definitely go see another gyno!! It could be more than just a cyst. Taking vicodin for a cyst is crazy. it could be deeper than that. it could be an infection of some sort, and you should get some tests taken!! you should go to www.mayoclinic.com to get more info! good luck!

I have had fibrocystic breast for decades. I was told years ago to cut out caffeine and pump up your Vitamin E. I take 400 I.U. about every other day. I'm doing better. As far as the cysts on your ovaries. I had those too, plus a fibroid on my uterus. They removed the Fibroid and the ovarian cysts, because they didn't go down within a reasonable amount of time. My fibroid and cysts were discovered when I miscarried a baby. They gave me a few months to get my hormones back to normal to allow shrinkage of the tumor.

The ER doctors think that when you come in for pain that you are just trying to get pain meds. ( the junkies has killed that for us people who really depend on them to releive our physical pain). They told me that they will not give me any pain pills because they do not know the cause of my pain.

I finally found a doctor who cared enough. I got a MRI of my back and found out the cause of my leg pain was a herinated disc in my back. I was so happy after 6 years of doctors telling me that I was imagining it, that I was addicted to pain meds, that I had a pulled muscle, and the list goes on.......... I was so happy in the doctors office that the nurses said I had never seen anyone so happy to know that they had a herinated disc. I finally had a name! So I have been taking steriod shots for the pressure, but I am considering surgery now.

Do not give up, I do not think that you should be in pain for this long and this bad if it was just cyst. I have PCOS and have a lot of cyst on my ovaries and they never hurt. I would say that it is something more.

Go to pain management in your area. They specialize in pain and will be able to help you manage until you find out what is really wrong with you.

PS. The other reason why it took me so long to find out what was wrong with me was because I did not have health insurance until I got married.

Ask you primary doctor to refer you to a pain management specialist. Those docs have some methods for treating pain while you are waiting for the medical system to catch up with you. They probably have to wait because you are young and your insurance requires that you try "conservative" measures and fail them before getting surgery or some better treatment. In the meantime the pain doctor can help with other ways of coping. It is sometimes difficult to deal with insurance and medical protocols. I had cysts too and they are a misery. I will pray for you. and hope you get some help soon.

It's really sad, but the ER professionals don't take pain management seriously. They see us as drug addicts and attention seekers. I would continue with pain management and get as many opinions as needed until a doc actually treats your illness. I know it's difficult to wait, but be persistent with the docs. You will find one that will help. I went to six different docs before I even got a legitimate diagnosis. My life is so much better now, because I am actually receiving treatment. Prayers are with you.

This sounds like your mucous plug. i could easily call the well being care service suitable away. The mucous plug can come weeks before labor yet because you're in reality 33 weeks alongside you want to call your well being care service. Lisa
